Driver Martin is out on the road for Treber A. Jung Transport GmbH in the new MAN TGX

Managing Director Bernhard Jung got to know the MAN brand during the time he spent training as a professional truck driver and as he says himself, “I took a real liking to it.” But even though quite a bit of time has passed since then, the manager of the international logistics and transport company, Treber A. Jung Transport GmbH, has not changed his attitude towards MAN vehicles. At least half of the trucks that are out on the road for his company are from MAN. “It’s simply an impressive product,” says Jung. And his decision to also add the MAN TGX to his fleet was made very early on. “There aren’t many opportunities to stand out from your competitors in our sector. So a modern vehicle like the new MAN TGX, of which there aren’t that many about yet, is a good eye-catcher,” underlining his decision to be one of the first companies in the region to launch the new Lion. Incidentally, all those years ago, Jung’s company was also one of the first firms to have a MAN TGA on its forecourt. “Going from an F2000 to a MAN TGA was a quantum leap in terms of appearance back then,” he says. Although there hasn’t been a marked change in appearance in the trucks from the new MAN Truck Generation compared to their predecessors, nevertheless, the plan to send out an eye-catcher works for the company. Driver Martin Wisniewski, who does long-distance driving with the MAN TGX, is often asked about the vehicle and people take pictures of the modern truck all the time.

“My boss knows well and good that I don’t want to drive anything other than my MAN Lion.”

For Martin, who has been working for the company for 10 years, it’s nothing new to attract attention with a vehicle. “He used to have the only white truck in our otherwise purely black fleet,” his boss laughs. It is Martin’s fourth MAN. “My boss knows well and good that I don’t want to drive anything other than my MAN Lion,” he says. “When you get in, everything is where it should be. I feel comfortable in this vehicle.” His wife, who often accompanies him on his tours, also likes the new vehicle and says that getting into it feels like coming home.

“My drivers should be as comfortable as possible.”

Employee satisfaction is a top priority for Bernhard Jung. “My employees are the most valuable thing I have in the company.” People enjoy working at the company and there’s little fluctuation. In order to keep it that way, it’s also important to the entrepreneur that long-term drivers are allowed to clearly state which truck they’d like to drive and that these wishes are met as far as possible.

For Bernhard Jung himself, it’s important that his drivers are comfortable in their trucks. “During the week, the truck is the driver’s home and it should be as pleasant as possible.” Orthopaedic seats and cabs with good suspension are an absolute must. The new MAN TGX with its cab designed for a high level of comfort fits the mould. “I lie down in the evening and having slept well, wake up in the morning well-rested,” says Martin, pleased with his comfortable truck home.

When he’s out on the road, he also greatly appreciates the assistance systems in the MAN TGX, their gentle intervention makes driving for him less stressful and more relaxed. “You have the feeling that the vehicle is thinking along the same lines,” he says. “Like with its predecessor, but just better.”

You’ve done everything right!

Businessman Jung, of course, also notes how economical the new model is in terms of fuel consumption, which he sees as a particularly beneficial side effect. The fact that he’s so totally convinced about the new Lion is reflected in his decision to have already ordered another one. This one will be driven by a woman who, until now, has actually remained loyal to another brand. The test runs with the MAN demonstrator, who Jung recently had on the premises, succeeded in convincing her of the MAN qualities. And when the new truck arrives, she will probably not want to give it back again – just like Martin, her colleague, with his MAN. He has a special message for the developer of his new favourite Lion: “Greetings from the road: you’ve done everything right!”
