Inter-Trans Pérez Casquet tests the MAN TGX 18.510 in everyday traffic

You can believe someone who has been on tour for almost 30 years: Professional driver Antonio Castillo knows trucks inside out and shares his thoughts on the MAN TGX 18.510 from behind the steering wheel.

Antonio has quite a few stories to tell – he has experienced a lot in the 28 years he has spent on the road as a professional driver. When it comes to his profession, there is nothing he does not like. Not even the day-to-day stress and the pressures of work could change that. And there is one thing he values above everything else:

“The independence that this job and the company that I drive for give me is something that is worth a special mention,” says Antonio.  He works for Inter-Trans Pérez Casquet, a company operating in the international transportation business. Antonio recently had the opportunity to familiarise himself with the new MAN TGX 18.510 during an extensive testing session under real working conditions.

“I really like the vehicle.”

“I have to admit, there are a lot of things to like about the new MAN truck,” says the 49-year-old driver. The vehicle’s manoeuvrability, handling, economic efficiency and low fuel consumption are some of the characteristics he likes most. “When you look at the level of comfort in the driver’s cab, you can tell that it has been designed with the driver in mind,” says a very pleased Antonio. As a long-distance truck driver himself, the cab is, of course, something that is of great importance to Antonio.

“Looking back on almost 30 years behind the wheel, I can remember an issue that I once had in Germany: My heating system packed in while I was on tour, it was very cold outside and I was due to take a long break. Fortunately, other drivers offered me their cabs so that I could get some rest and warm up,” says Antonio, highlighting the solidarity that exists amongst long-distance truck drivers.
