Sit back, relax and stay warm!

The MAN independent heating system will keep you warm through the cold winter months

From freezing cold to toasty warm in no time at all – the independent heating system that is installed in the models of the new MAN Truck Generation heats the cab up in a flash and is also remarkably easy to use.

It’s finally here – a tipper with an independent heating system. To ensure that you can get the cab warmed up swiftly, the independent heating system used in the vehicles of the new MAN Truck Generation has been reworked somewhat. As a result, this useful heating system is more convenient and efficient than the predecessor model.

Hot feet are a thing of the past!

“It is no longer the case that the heater unit blows warm air exclusively through the two vents in the footwell,” explains Andreas Griem, an instructor at MAN ProfiDrive®. “In the new version, the water for the cabin heating system and air conditioning is heated in the heat exchanger. There is also the option of preheating the engine at the same time. The cab’s heating system uses the same vents and options as in drive mode.” Another benefit of the revamped system: Andreas explains that the issue of “hot feet” has been resolved entirely.

The independent heating system’s impressive integrated programming function makes the system particularly user-friendly. A new feature: “In addition to the start-up time, the driver is now also able to pre-program the departure time and the desired temperature, regardless of the ambient temperature,” explains Andreas Griem.

Thanks to the rotary switch on the right-hand side of the control unit, programming tasks are very straightforward to carry out. “Just press it and then use the central display to find your way around,” the expert explains. “Leaving the menu completes the programming task.”

On a side note: “If you have an independent heating system with engine preheating, you should use that during the cold season to reduce engine wear and also to avoid the higher consumption rates associated with the cold run function,” advises Andreas Griem.
