A visit from the Feed Mafia

Driver Felix transports animal feed in his MAN, which features a Dutch-style design

Cattle on the local farms are always happy to see Felix drive up in his grass-green MAN TGX 26.470, as it means a good supply of feed has arrived from Raiffeisen Hohe Mark Hamaland eG.

They all like it when the so-called Feed Mafia stops by; after all, that means professional truck driver Felix has just turned up in his MAN TGX 26.470. He is a welcome guest on the farms, which he regularly supplies with animal feed. Ultimately, by delivering the feed, he plays an important role in ensuring that everything goes to plan and the troughs are always kept reliably full.

Reliability is an important subject for Felix personally, too, so he is happy that he can depend on his MAN TGX, for which he sets high quality standards.

“I’m very satisfied with my MAN.”

That includes the MAN TGX’s special look, with Felix investing a great deal of time into upkeep on his truck, which has a striking Dutch-style design. “Truck tinkering” was his first response when asked about his favourite pastimes. This has seen him put considerable time and personal effort into his MAN’s attractive styling. With some committed help from friends, for instance, he jazzed up the interior of his truck with leather flooring and curtains, illuminated the door panels, and retrofitted a bed base along with microwave and kettle.

Plus, he added a new stone guard, inscribed with the word Futtermafia (Feed Mafia). The nickname, which originated during an after-work beer with a colleague, puts a smile on many a customer’s face and is always received with good humour, he says.

The ideal job for Felix

The 29-year-old has been behind the wheel in a professional capacity for seven years now. Having started out as a trained mechanic working on agricultural machinery, he decided to further his occupational development, obtaining an HGV driving licence. Since then, he has put his heart and soul into the job: “I like the challenges and diverse experiences that the job brings, and I enjoy meeting so many different people,” he comments. Even if he would gladly do without one or two encounters. It can sometimes be a dog-eat-dog world out on the road, Felix says, and he would rather see more of a sense of community.

But otherwise, he knows that he is in the right profession, and it is no problem for him if he has to manoeuvre a little longer on one farm or the other until he gets his MAN to the right spot. At the moment, everything is fine the way it is, but Felix still gives us a hint of what he would like: “If I had to pick a new truck now, it would be an MAN TGX from the new MAN Truck Generation with a GM cab and around 510 hp.”
