Make Trucking Great Again

TRUCKSTOP

Christina said goodbye to her old job to become a professional driver.

Professional driver Christina Franke has not let anyone put her off on the way to her dream job. Today, she is mighty proud to have done her thing. Right now, she is delighted with a brand new MAN TGX 18.580, which she also designed according to her wishes together with her boss.

Starting the working day as the sun is rising or witnessing a sunset live – Christina never had that during her old job as an administrative assistant. At that time, there were many things that did not fit in with the 43-year-old’s ideas of what a dream job should be. In addition, trucks had always held a special fascination for her in a certain way. “I was always fascinated by all the trucks at truck meetings,” Christina remembers. This continued until she made a life-changing decision: “I was standing on a lifting platform at Lohfeldener Rüssel in 2019 and decided to get my truck driver’s licence”.

At first, many would have thought her crazy and perhaps not really believed that she would put her plan into action. For Christina, however, it was clear that she would do just what she had in mind: This meant getting her driving licence and giving up her civil service job at the University of Kassel for her dream job, driving a truck. “Make trucking great again” – that is the motto of the later appointed truck driver.

And to make sure that this motto is also experienced in terms of the vehicle, Christina recently opted for a (new) MAN TGX 18.580 with a spacious interior and “a mega bed”, as the trucker from Fuldabrück Bergshausen enthusiastically reports. Christina also came up with a few ideas for the design of the new lion so that she could take to the streets in it with her very own personal look. In tipper operation, she goes on tour for the company Agrosprinter Transport + Logistics Ltd with bulk goods such as grain, malt and animal feed. There always seem to be men who underestimate Christina’s skills behind the truck wheel. No problem for the female driver who, in addition to her driving skills, has acquired a few quick-witted responses for guys such as this. In any case, one man trusts her completely: Her almost 21-year-old son. “He is very proud of me and thinks it is good that I am going my own way,” Christina says happily.

La famiglia e tutto

Family is everything – this is not only true for Christina when it comes to her son – the motto also applies in the company. That’s why she and her three best work colleagues Aggi, Axel and Thomas also have the slogan behind the windscreen of their trucks. But this is not the only thing that makes the trucks of the four stand out:

“Our trucks stand out a bit, but that’s a good thing.”

Her own MAN stands out with bull bars and a light box at the front with the company logo. It also has many painted parts that are usually not painted and a coloured frame to match the frame of the new tipper.

It is very important to Christina that things run well within the company and that everyone gets along with each other. This is why she would not want to change employers because of the truck brand: “A family atmosphere is important to me and the overall package has to fit,” she says. And that’s also how her bosses, Sandra and Lars Frese, see it. “Neither of the two wants to be called boss either because they don’t want to be superior,” says Christina. Sounds like she made a really good decision and the right choice by realising her dream job.
