Jean Renard et Fils Transports tools up with the new MAN Generation

Now the fleet is complete: With the arrival of a powerful lion, the MAN TGX 18.510 LLS, the new MAN Truck Generation has officially joined the fleet at Jean Renard et Fils Transports in Bouxwiller, Bas-Rhin.

Jean Renard has come to know several generations of trucks in his professional career as a driver and haulier. He is particularly proud that he has also been able to add the current generation of lions to the fleet by bringing in the MAN TGX 18.510 LLS. All the more so because he himself will be the driver of this masterpiece with its striking metallic blue paint job. The 65-year-old has been a passionate truck driver since 1974. He started his own business in 1979 and he is happy that his children now share his love of trucks: “Without willing it to happen or pushing them in that direction, I am delighted to say that both my sons have chosen to work for the company with the same passion for the job and the vehicles that I have.”

We added our first MAN to the fleet 12 years ago, “and we have remained loyal to the brand ever since,” says Jean. “We are very satisfied with the vehicles and the MAN branch in Strasbourg,” confirms his son and co-managing director Marc.

In addition to the full metallic blue paint job, the new MAN TGX was equipped with an additional lamp bracket, cab lighting and all-round air suspension.

“As you can see from our new MAN truck, we attach great importance to individual design and to kitting out our vehicles with special features. They are part of our brand image and the pride and joy of our small enterprise.”

On his tours, he is able to enjoy the benefits of his lion’s 510 hp engine and its optimised economic efficiency with regard to fuel consumption. He is also impressed by the convenient features of the MAN TGX, namely the air-conditioning system, TV and refrigerator. And there are a couple of personal companions that cannot be left behind when he heads out on his tours, which mainly cover the regions of Alsace, south-western France, the Basque country and northern Spain.

“Since the beginning of my career, there has always been a St. Christopher image by my side in my trucks, watching over me,” Jean reveals. He also has a cuddly stork on board: a gift from his wife that serves as a reminder of where he comes from.

He also likes thinking back to the genesis of his career as a driver: “It was a childhood dream that became a reality and a passion of mine.”
