The best-looking truck on the road by a mile

Farrall’s Group became a MAN convert three years ago

Chester-based Farrall’s Group is moving up a gear thanks to the arrival of its first latest-generation MAN TGX trucks and MAN TGE vans. However, their striking livery in the company’s trademark colours isn’t the only thing that will make a good impression.

“When you buy a vehicle from MAN, you know exactly what you’re getting. They’re robust, efficient, and reliable,” says Matthew Farrall, Managing Director of Farrall’s Group and grandson of founder Eddie Farrall. For three years now, the company has been proud to use trucks bearing MAN’s lion motif, and both Matthew and Eddie are big fans of the German brand. Eddie, who founded the company in 1956 with his wife Joan, even reckons that the TGX from the new MAN Truck Generation is the best-looking truck on the road by a mile. So it was only a matter of time until Farrall would add this new lion to its fleet.

The new MAN TGX 26.470 6×2 trucks with mid-lift axles and GM cabs are a striking sight in the trademark Farrall’s Group livery featuring black bumpers, standing platforms, and headlight surrounds that transition to red and white further up the cab. The two 3.5-tonne MAN TGE vans bearing the same distinctive paint job as the big trucks also blend into Farrall’s fleet perfectly.

Drivers love the new arrivals

The new MAN TGX and MAN TGE vehicles operate at both the main depot in Chester and the 80,000 m2 warehouse in Deeside – and both models were an instant hit with drivers. “We want our drivers to have a safe, comfortable, and pleasant working environment,” says Matthew.

“The new generation of MAN trucks represents a huge leap forward, and we hear a lot of positive comments from other operators in the industry.”

To guarantee driving comfort, the new MAN TGX trucks were equipped with refrigerators, improved radios, and sat nav. Meanwhile, the MAN TGE models boast the MAN Media Van Business infotainment system, which includes sat nav, 8” TFT colour displays, and touchscreens. Air-conditioning system, cruise control, and the MAN TGE roof rack system are also among the vehicles’ stand-out features.

“We’d heard a lot of good things about the efficiency and fuel consumption of the new MAN TGX generation, so we were really excited to see how their performance shaped up – and the first indications are really positive. These new vehicles will help the company meet the increased demand for shipments and continue to deliver outstanding customer service,” Matthew concludes.
