Special machine at work

Marco and his MAN are having a clear-out. With the mobile shredder installed in the semitrailer of the new MAN TGX 26.580, documents and data media can be shredded quickly and carefully on site.

New arrival at Sicher-vernichtet.de Datenträgervernichtung OHG: Now that he has his hands on his MAN TGX 26.580, entrepreneur and professional driver Marco Thiel enjoys his job even more.
“We work in waste disposal and use special machines to destroy files and data media inside the truck right there at the customer’s premises,” the 37-year-old explains. The company’s latest arrival and second MAN in the fleet now also has a role to play in this. “We also supply our customers with collection bins and take responsibility for clearing out entire archives,” Marco adds, before explaining that his job is never dull because every day and every customer is different. Marco is a self-proclaimed fan of the MAN TGX ever since he started driving it.

“It’s beautifully designed, offers sufficient comfort and, once you’ve got the hang of it, it’s easy to drive,”

says the driver from Darscheid, summing up the merits of his MAN.

And with its 580 hp engine and solo operation capabilities, the Lion is a match for all the topographical challenges that lie in wait throughout Germany. The company’s document and data shredding vehicles are used all over Germany, meaning that Marco and his colleagues face new challenges on the road every day: Narrow roads, loading and unloading areas that are often full of other vehicles, and truck stops where the conditions are not always ideal.

Despite all that, Marco really enjoys his job. “I like being out and about, enjoy talking to customers and I learn something new every day that I can then pass on to my employees,” he says. Marco got his truck driver’s licence back in 2003 and would like to see the driving profession shown in a better light as far as the general public is concerned. He feels there is a lot of badmouthing and that everyone is tarred with the same brush. In his opinion, having a truck driver’s licence is interesting and rewarding because it opens up so many exciting opportunities. His own job is a prime example of this.
