Entrepreneur Helmut Hauser was born to be a professional driver

Some people know where their life is taking them right from the start It was the same for entrepreneur and driver Helmut Hauser, who has known that driving and trucks were his passion since he was a small boy.

At Hauser Transporte GmbH in the Ziller Valley of western Austria, everything revolves around the varied transport tasks that need to be carried out every day. Helmut Hauser, the head of the company, opts for the reliability offered by MAN vehicles and applies his own passion for trucks that he developed at a young age.

“Travelling with my dad was always an experience.”

While he took every opportunity he could to travel in the truck, sometimes one of his brothers had already taken the seat next to their father. Even then, his first love was for large construction site vehicles, all of which he can now operate himself. Nowadays, it is important to the businessman that he often gets behind the wheel too. As a result, in addition to the office work that needs to be done, he also regularly gets into his company’s vehicles and fulfils various transport orders. His favourite activity is transporting timber because this is what he started with 42 years ago when he joined the family business in the 1980s. The company was founded by his father, Johann Hauser, in 1968 – who used a 2-axle vehicle to provide tip-lorry services and to transport livestock and timber. In 1989, the business was then taken over by Helmut Hauser, who has continuously expanded it. Hauser Transporte now employs 35 people in the village of Stumm in the Ziller Valley of western Austria. This includes Hauser’s 29 year-old son Simon, who – like his father – can already drive everything, and his daughter Alice, who assists the family-owned business in the office.

Having trucks on the road is crucial for the company, which is why Helmut Hauser particularly appreciates the reliability and strength of his favourite “lion” model, a MAN TGX 33.640 6×4 BL SA with MAN HydroDrive – the ideal vehicle for all of the company’s fields of application. Day-to-day transport tasks include moving timber, gravel, asphalt, rocks and much more besides. Helmut Hauser not only relies on having a well-equipped vehicle fleet, but also well-qualified and dedicated employees. He supports his workforce in every respect. “The working atmosphere is good and my drivers trust me,” says Hauser, who is pleased that his dedication is so positively reflected. He adds that most of the drivers would stay with the company in the long term.

Looking forward, Helmut Hauser would like to see job security for his drivers, transport orders that continue to remain high and trucks that stay rolling. It goes without saying, that he would also be very pleased if his children ran the business one day.
