The wait is finally over: Daniel and Ingmar are finally presenting a new recipe from the trucker’s kitchen. The rice and minced meat stir-fry puts a nutritious and balanced dish on the table. Click on it straight away and cook it yourself.

Good food on the go – we took the wish from the “Driving for Germany” survey “Meals on the go” very seriously and developed the idea for the MAN Road Meal series from this. In this series, chef Daniel and your professional colleague Ingmar cook delicious and quick recipes that are intended to inspire you to cook them yourself afterwards. The latest video puts a tasty rice and minced meat stir-fry onto the table. Watch the video here.

Rice and mince pan recipe

Ingredients (4 people)

  • 1 onion
  • Olive oil
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 600 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tin sweetcorn
  • 1 tin kidney beans
  • Mexican spice mix
  • 200 g long grain rice
  • 150 g Gouda, grated
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 bunch spring onions
  • 1 cup sour cream

Preparation

1. Dice the onion and heat the olive oil in the pan
2. Fry the minced meat together with onions
3. Add vegetable stock, chopped tomatoes, sweetcorn and kidney beans and season with Mexican spices. Then bring to the boil.
4. Add rice so that it is completely covered with the stock and simmer until it has absorbed the liquid
5. Remove from the heat and sprinkle with Gouda
6. Add 1 spoonful of vegetable stock. Put on the lid and wait until the Gouda has melted.
7. Stir the sour cream and add dollops to the cheese
8. Wash and dice the tomatoes and add on top of the sour cream
9. Clean the spring onions and cut into thin rings
10. Place half on the sour cream and put the other half on the table in a small bowl.
