The MAN Christmas truck on tour

However, this year the MAN Christmas truck was not able to visit all the locations on the planned itinerary. Nevertheless, everyone did their utmost so that as many people as possible, especially children, were able to enjoy being paid a visit by the truck. A plan that really did work – because everywhere the truck went, it succeeded in spreading the Christmas sparkle and the Christmas joy.

Many drivers and members of Trucker’s World by MAN, who all really wanted to go on this festive mission with the MAN Christmas truck, answered the call made by Trucker’s World by MAN, which urged truckers to “Be the MAN for the Father Christmas job!” There were so many fantastic ideas as to what to do but, in the end, it was decided that this year the festively decorated MAN TGX should be sent to a variety of children’s institutions: some of the children to receive a visit by the MAN glistening, golden super sleigh were those in Leipzig and also youngsters in the area of Ahrtal in western Germany.

The shining truck in its yuletide costume and Father Christmas as its escort certainly did not fail in creating the desired effect. Wherever these two “companions” went, they were met and greeted by the radiant eyes of children and their delighted faces. One reason for that was the amazingly unique look of the MAN Christmas sleigh and another huge factor was the little Christmas gifts that it was bearing and which were generously distributed.

The whole project was super cool!

But the feeling of elation about this successful Christmas undertaking was not only felt by those receiving the presents but also by the drivers involved in the event, who experienced it as something really special:

“A huge thank-you for choosing us for this project!” were the heartfelt words of the driver and of the project’s initiator, who was given permission to send the MAN Christmas truck to the University Hospital Leipzig: “When the truck drove up to the hospital and the first little ones pressed their noses against the window, it was a wonderful feeling and exceptionally moving and emotional for us. Father Christmas strolled up and down in front of the building and waved to the children.

The building opposite houses the kindergarten for youngsters of the staff working at the UNI Leipzig. Lots of children were excitedly romping about by the windows there, too.”

So much solidarity with the people of Ahrtal

A particularly large number of drivers and members of Trucker’s World by MAN wished to give some joy and sunshine to the people of Ahrtal. They eagerly volunteered to drive the MAN Christmas truck in order to take donated goods and small presents to that area. And it goes without saying that here, too, such a visit in the run-up to Christmas was a huge source of delight for the children and also for their parents.
