Happy as a professional driver

Colin Sprenger knew early on what he wanted to become

Colin Sprenger is a professional driver by desire and conviction. And also a genuine MAN fan. With his MAN TGS 18.430, he is on the road for HVL Transporte GmbH in the field of distribution transport.

I knew early on where I wanted to go professionally. For Colin Sprenger, there was a clear career aspiration, which he then single-mindedly put into practice. “I started my apprenticeship as a professional driver when I was 18, and 11 years later I’m still really happy in my job,” the 29-year-old says happily. Even though his profession unfortunately does not have the best public image, which bothers him personally, nothing else but driving comes into question for him.

“I was interested in trucks from an early age and was always fascinated by the big vehicles.”

So he set his sights on his career goal early on. Today he drives for the company HVL Transporte GmbH on behalf of a paper wholesaler. “My duties consist of supplying copy, printer and industrial paper to printers, offices and schools.”This includes driving in city centres and manoeuvring to load and unload his semitrailer combination. This is very convenient for him, especially in terms of usability. The MAN TGS 18.430 reliably does its part to ensure that Colin can deliver everything expertly and professionally, and the young driver is delighted with the great user-friendliness of his lion-like beast. And, of course, its appealing appearance. Even as a child, he was fascinated by the large MAN vehicles. “I’ve been a big MAN fan since I was a kid,” he says. “I like the design and the ease of use.”

He is currently crazy about the vehicles of the latest MAN truck generation – so it’s no wonder that he describes his MAN TGS with good equipment and fancy aluminium rims as his current dream vehicle. He only feels that the engine should be a little more powerful. He would prefer 510 hp to the current 430 hp of his MAN TGS. Overall, however, things are going very well for the two of them and Colin is happy about the independence that his job offers him every day, with “the opportunity to do a lot of independent work without someone constantly looking over my shoulder”.
