Oh happy day

TRUCKSTOP

With the new trucks, around 50 MANs now drive for Bärnreuther+Deuerlein Schotterwerke

The new vehicles for Bärnreuther+Deuerlein Schotterwerke mark the 70th MAN put into service at the company. Also present was driver Edith Fuchs, who received her first new truck on this occasion.

Nine years with Bärnreuther+Deuerlein Schotterwerke and a new vehicle for the first time: Professional driver Edith Fuchs is still overwhelmed by the fact that from now on she will climb into a brand new MAN TGX 18.510 in the morning to start her tours. The driver also found the handover at the MAN Truck Forum a little overwhelming, where she, together with entrepreneur Anna Bärnreuther and entrepreneur Herbert Bärnreuther as well as four driver colleagues, faced the newcomers from Munich for the first time. At first, no one would have really dared to go to the vehicles. “You come into the hall, see your truck and think, wow, that one’s mine,” Edith says.

But any initial shyness was quickly overcome: After a detailed theoretical briefing by MAN ProfiDrive and the practical handover, the highlight was going straight out onto the test track. “The vehicles are MAN HydroDrive semitrailer tractors with 510 hp and GN cabs,” says MAN salesman Alexander Hefele from MAN’s southern sales region. “The special feature of these trucks is that they are equipped with all safety systems up to and including MAN CruiseAssist. Safety systems are not prescribed by law in this class, but MAN also offers the complete range here and Bärnreuther+Deuerlein attaches great importance to them for its drivers,” Hefele continues.

“Our drivers should be able to rely on their vehicles 100 per cent,”

Anna Bärnreuther confirms her company’s claim.

That is why the new lion-branded vehicles were also ordered with the modern MAN OptiView mirror replacement system. “The first kilometres with the new mirror system took some getting used to,” says Edith, but she is sure that she will ride well with it in the future.

There is an order to everything

Who gets to enjoy a new vehicle at Bärnreuther is decided, among other things, by who has already been working in the company for how long: “This time, along with four other drivers, it was Edith’s turn to get one of the new vehicles,” says Anna Bärnreuther. To the great delight of the driver. Edith is very happy with her job at the company: “It’s the right workplace for me and I like the family atmosphere at Bärnreuther+Deuerlein.”

She feels perfectly at home in the industry and in her job as a driver anyway: “Some people are good at driving, others aren’t,” she says, describing her view of things. And she doesn’t have to prove to anyone that she is doing a good job. But she is pleased that with the new MAN, she has a reliable partner at her side, with whom driving will go a little better than before.
