Special trucks for loyal employees

At Buck Transporte GmbH, appreciation is shown through beautiful vehicles

Trust, appreciation, employee loyalty – anyone who goes on tour for Buck Transporte GmbH can do so in a beautiful vehicle. This is now also the case for Sven Acker, who has been with the company since his apprenticeship and will be attracting attention in his new MAN TGX 18.640 from now on.

A very special surprise moment awaited truck driver Sven Acker when he came face to face with his new MAN TGX 18.640 at the MAN Truck Forum. And even then he couldn’t really believe that it was supposed to be his truck:

“When I saw the new vehicle, I couldn’t believe it was mine.”

The colour scheme would have clearly revealed that the truck bearing the MAN lion was a new arrival for Buck Transporte, but in Sven’s eyes the special equipment was a bit too lavish for a truck from his company. “We don’t really have side panels, or leather seats,” laughs Sven. And yet he was allowed to get in, and was immediately carried away by the interior design of his new cab. Here, nothing had been left to chance and many a MAN fan, like Sven, would probably not have been able to believe their luck at first.

The vehicles at Buck are eye-catchers in their own right, but with two of the four new additions, the company had particularly good intentions this time in terms of horsepower and special equipment. “They were ordered secretly by the management and until the day we picked them up in Munich, the drivers didn’t know anything about it,” says Johannes Buck, a master mechanic at Buck Transporte, explaining what the company sometimes does for long-standing and reliable employees. It is a nice gesture to show the drivers the company’s appreciation. At the same time, these fine vehicles are to be seen as an incentive for the other drivers to stay with the company for a long time and to be committed to their jobs.

And as you can see from Sven’s example, the company’s idea of giving something back to the drivers in the form of special vehicles is very well received: Sven reports that there is a world of difference between his old super lion and the new one. “The vehicle is a lot quieter, not to mention the extra 200 horsepower it now has under the bonnet,” laughs the 29-year-old. And the new MAN TGX also performs significantly better in terms of fuel consumption. He did not expect to get a new MAN. We knew that the company had placed an order, but not who the drivers would be. “I was still very happy with my MAN. It was running really well.”

So it’s all the more surprising that he is now on the road with the fully equipped MAN TGX, which even bears his name. Apart from himself, no one else has driven this particular lion-branded truck. The fact that he chose the profession of driver himself was just how things turned out, says Sven. But then we learn that his grandfather and his father also worked in this profession, which certainly contributed in no small way to his own career aspirations. He also donates many hours of his free time to the brand’s trucks, proving that he is a true MAN fan. He dedicates this time to the two MAN F90 old-timers he bought. The fact he ended up with two of these classic trucks at once was not planned, but just how things turned out. “I jumped at the chance,” laughs Sven, who is restoring the two old trucks himself. “They’re not finished, but they’re ready to drive,” says Sven, and he’s already attended one or two classic vehicle meet-ups with the MAN F90s.

He mainly drives the new MAN TGX on roads in southern Germany and northern Italy. We wish the long-standing member of Trucker’s World by MAN a safe journey and hope he enjoys his special MAN.
