Growing up with MAN

TRUCKSTOP

Trucker Alexander Krüger loves the independence he experiences in his truck

The country needs young drivers. It’s nice that there are professional drivers like Alexander Krüger who, right from childhood, can’t imagine anything better than sitting behind the wheel of a truck – and who then put this plan into practice.

The fact that he doesn’t always have to be in just one place is what Alexander particularly likes about his job. “It’s nice to see things,” he says, pleased to see so much variety and to get around the country. He has been a driver with his whole heart and soul for 11 years now – after vocational training as a professional driver, he took the driver’s seat as soon as he came of age. And he still feels very much at home there today. However, his experience of trucking started much earlier.

“I grew up with MAN. I was already driving with my dad when I was a little kid.”

He therefore got to know just about all the major MAN models, starting with the MAN F90, through the MAN F2000 and right up to the MAN TGA and MAN TGX. Childhood memories from the co-driver’s seat eventually turned into his own experiences as a professional driver. He himself also started with a MAN F2000. This was followed by a MAN TGA and a MAN TGX. The slogan of “MAN forever” is appropriate for Alexander. Love for MAN is an integral part of his life – he has even had it tattooed onto his skin. The lion and the MAN logo always ride along on his forearm, and indicate which brand his heart beats for.

The 29-year-old is currently driving a MAN TGX 18.510 GX. He drives tippers and push floors, among other things, for the company Albers Transporte in the bulk goods sector (local and long-haul transport). There may also be smaller challenges on his trips, depending entirely on where exactly he’s driving and what load he’s carrying. However, he meets them in an experienced manner, and with lots of confidence to do his job really well.

He would also like society to have confidence in his profession. For him, the bad image of drivers is a downside of the profession. At the same time, however, there is often also a lack of cohesion between the drivers, and Alexander would like to see more togetherness than antagonism here. And while we’re on the subject of what’s wanted, there is, of course, also a MAN that the young driver from Bestwig-Ramsbeck particularly likes. The new MAN TGX 18.640 GX Individual Lion S would be a truck just the way he wants it.
