A feeling of freedom with the MAN TGE

Jörg Synnatzschke saw it just once and was immediately convinced that he wanted to have and drive the MAN TGE. The van produced by MAN was appropriately converted and adapted to the needs of the wheelchair user, and became a faithful companion.

Marco Barkanowitz from the series ‘King of Trucks’ has already made many people more aware of the beauty of commercial vehicles. So far, however, these have been almost exclusively US trucks, which the truck enthusiast has been importing from North America for over 20 years, converting for the German market and reselling. In his show ‘King of Trucks’, which is broadcast with great success on the DMAX channel, the US classics are adapted to the local technical regulations and ‘pimped’ by the guys from American Truck Promotion exactly according to the wishes of the clients. Jörg Synnatzschke has been a big fan of the series about the eye-catching show trucks since the first episode, and has found his favourite vehicle in the process.

“I knew right away I wanted that one!”

In an episode of ‘King of Trucks’, the 52-year-old’s attention is drawn to Marco’s MAN TGE 3.180 – as Marco explains, “the only staff car we have”. And indispensable for the team that uses the MAN Van every day for all kinds of transport tasks – whether this is moving truck tyres, picking up clients and much more. “The passenger car feeling of the MAN TGE is awesome,” Marco enthuses. And Jörg, too, is immediately enthusiastic about the smallest member of the MAN family: “I really liked the car,” he says. “I saw it and had to have it.”

In fact, Jörg doesn’t even hesitate; he orders the MAN TGE and virtually reinvents it for his purposes. Since he is in a wheelchair, the little ‘lion’ first had to be modified so that it could be used by Jörg. The MAN TGE is a reliable partner in everyday life and the perfect solution for almost any application. – Jörg would certainly agree 100 per cent with this advertising slogan promoting the versatility of the van produced by MAN. Is his own summary of the MAN Van:

“For me, the MAN TGE means freedom – money can’t buy you that.”

Being permitted to present his vehicle to the truck expert Marco is a special moment for him. Accompanied by a film crew, the two set off for a drive together. Marco is amazed when he gets to know the details of Jörg’s MAN TGE. For example, the hydraulic ramp that Jörg uses to access the interior of the vehicle in his wheelchair. Their drive together feels familiar, with not many words needed. You can tell that both are convinced of the qualities of the MAN TGE. Marco and Jörg have both found a reliable partner in it.
