Heinz Bill GmbH wants to contribute to the change of image with "Driving for Germany

How do we draw society’s attention to the current difficult situation in the transportation industry and ensure a better image for professional drivers? Entrepreneur Christian Bill is convinced of the importance of “Driving for Germany” and is therefore involved in the MAN initiative with his team.

The builder’s merchant Heinz Bill GmbH is constantly on the road delivering goods with the company’s 18 trucks. There is also a subsidiary that operates quarries, disposal sites and recycling yards. Company owner Christian Bill is therefore very familiar with the processes, requirements and challenges of the transportation industry. The latter is currently about “finding drivers who do a good job,” says Christian Bill.

It’s the first topic that pops up when you go to the company’s website: “Bye-bye asphalt cowboy – hello driving IT specialist” We are looking for drivers. Apply now! – is there as a call to possible new employees. Above-average pay and attractive offers await Bill’s drivers: “We offer further training and special payments. We also hold a summer and Christmas party for our employees every year,” says Christian Bill. Nevertheless, it is difficult to find people.

“We think that the job is much more attractive and interesting than is often presented and we want to get to the point where truck drivers receive more appreciation.”

The entrepreneur wants to draw the attention of outsiders to the difficulties facing the industry, which is why he has decided to participate in the MAN initiative “Driving for Germany”. It is time that wider society recognises just how serious the situation is. He also hopes that the initiative will improve the image of the driver’s profession and that more young people will be enthusiastic about the job.

Christian Bill himself demonstrates his passion for drivers even outside of his company’s business hours: For example, the entrepreneur used a private celebration to collect donations for the MAN relief fund “Fahrer helfen Fahrern e.V.”, which is all about drivers helping other drivers in need. He personally handed over the proceeds to an employee of the non-profit association at the 2022 MAN Christmas Market.
