This is Europe’s most beautiful MAN truck!
Paweł Pabich’s “White Lion” is one of the most beautiful trucks in Europe. At least that’s what the voters of the MAN Truck Champions 2023 competition think, awarding the White Lion first place. This story tells you a little bit more about the truck and driver.
White lions have accompanied Paweł Pabich from Siechnice throughout his professional career as a truck driver. “All the trucks I’ve driven were white.” In the case of his current white MAN, it has to be called “White Lion” because of the company logo, reveals Paweł, who has been doing the driver’s job for 13 years. It’s his dream job, he says, because he loves “the thrill of trucker life”. He has already presented the special design of his MAN on several occasions at events and festivals, including at the Master Truck 2023 in Opole. However, it was his friends who registered him and his MAN TGX 18.460 to take part in the MAN Truck Champion of Europe, Paweł explains. And also helped him win votes for the white super truck. “Mateusz Krakowiak did most of the advertising for my MAN,” Paweł reveals. He works at the agency that manages the Polish part of the Trucker’s World drivers’ club on behalf of MAN. An effort that paid off. After all, Paweł’s white MAN was able to win so many fans that he made it to the final round of the competition, and from there all the way to the finishing line, to become MAN Truck Champion of Europe. Even Paweł, who sees himself as a self-confident person, was surprised:
“It exceeded my expectations. Standing there at the MAN Truck Forum in Munich was a dream come true,”
Paweł describes the feeling of being celebrated as the winner on stage.
And of course, the celebrations were not only held at the MAN Trucknology Festival in Munich: “We spent several days at a festival in Poland with food and celebrations,” laughs Paweł. Together with friends and family, who are all very proud of him and his White Lion.
To take his stylish MAN to the next level, Paweł has really pulled out all the stops, all under the “Lion” motto: The stone guard adorns the great MAN lion and not just the name of the truck. The illuminated front bumper as well as the lights and lightbar on the protective radiator grille and on the cab roof also serve as decorative attachments. Two Michelin men – all in white, of course – also adorn the truck. The fact that Paweł feels at home in his MAN is clear at first glance. The instruments, seats, sleeping area and floor are finished in finely coordinated leather in beige and brown. This boasts another elaborate detail, a lion embroidery that looks as if it has just been made. So it’s no wonder that this tuning attracted so many admirers.
In the meantime, Paweł is already thinking about which truck highlight he could show if a new round of the MAN Truck Champion competition starts in 2024. “You have to stay prepared and concentrated,” says Paweł about his job as a professional driver – with certainty also the ideal characteristics to successfully win a competition.
