Molto bello: Italy also has a truck champion!
Wearing the broad smiles of winners, entrepreneur Giovanni Incampo and his driver Amin Hnaien proudly accepted the trophy for their MAN TGX at the award ceremony in Munich: third place in the international MAN Truck Champion ranking – fantastico!
Professional driver Amin Hnaien comes from a family of drivers – his father and three brothers who work with him all earn their money driving trucks. His boss Giovanni Incampo also found his way to commercial vehicles through his father: “My passion for trucks came from my father and started when I was a child,” says the entrepreneur. Even today, he occasionally sits behind the wheel himself, though he naturally leaves most of the driving time to his drivers. He is fully aware of their importance, also for the survival of the company. He therefore does everything he can to treat them with great respect and appreciation:
“I always try to help them as much as possible, encourage them to do their best and always value their importance”
– just as it should be, says Giovanni Incampo.
Amin, who also travels internationally with his loads, would like more respect for drivers both on the road and from the customers where he unloads. Not to mention well-marked and clean rest areas. It is therefore all the better that with his MAN he not only has a powerhouse with 510 hp and lots of accessories at his side, but also had the opportunity to design it entirely according to his ideas and taste. He was very much guided by external role models and mixed them with his own ideas. And of course, he also keeps up with the times, constantly adapting the design and functions to the latest specifications. The result is an eye-catcher full of lion power that is very clearly on the attack with the roaring lions on the sides of the cab. Amin and his powerhouse also continued this attacking approach by their participation in the MAN Truck Champion competition after Giovanni Incampo took the first step and registered the truck and driver.
“To be honest, I knew I would be among the first places,”
says Amin, describing how he felt when he entered the competition.
The way in which his truck is built convinced him completely of the potential of the Lion. Just like many others who voted for Amin’s dream truck. He himself mobilised all his friends, acquaintances and relatives to vote for his Lion – they are spread across all of Europe, he reveals.
He is therefore very satisfied with how the race for Europe’s most beautiful truck ended: third place and an invitation to the winners’ ceremony in Munich. Of course, Giovanni and Amin stood together on the stage to receive the award for their supertruck. And they naturally also celebrated accordingly – Amin together with his family and friends, who are at least as proud of Italy’s MAN Truck Champion as he is. “A fantastic result,” he says when summing up the success of his design Lion.
