Here’s the latest MAN Road Meal recipe

New year, new recipes: Let 2024 be the year of cooking delicious dishes from the MAN Road Meal series. Chef Daniel and his assistant Ingmar are back once again to rustle up another delicious meal. Take a look for yourself.

MAN Road Meal hits the spot again: On the menu this time is a delicious chicken and Spätzle pasta dish, which chef Daniel prepares together with professional trucker Ingmar – all following simple steps for you to repeat and cook yourself. One result of last year’s major “Road Meal” driver survey, which formed part of the MAN Driving for Germany initiative, was that many of you still want to eat a balanced and healthy diet while on the road. And with that in mind, Trucker’s World launched the MAN Road Meal series. We hope you enjoy cooking the recipes!

Chicken spaetzle pan recipe

Ingredients (4 portions)

  • 500 g chicken breast fillet
  • 1 leek
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp sambal oelek
  • 100 ml cream
  • 250 ml chicken stock
  • 1 packet of Spätzle (pasta) (approx. 400 g)
  • 3 tbsp Gouda cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped

Preparation

  1. Pat the chicken dry and dice it
  2. Wash and clean the leeks and cut into fine rings
  3. Peel, wash and dice the carrots
  4. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the chicken for approx. two minutes
  5. Add the leeks and carrots, and fry for approx. another two minutes
  6. Add the tomato paste and sambal oelek, fry briefly and deglaze the pan with the cream and stock
  7. Add the Spätzle (pasta) and simmer for approx. two minutes
  8. Add the cheese to the Spätzle (pasta), season with salt and pepper and serve sprinkled with parsley
