Floating on cloud nine over the festival site

TRUCKSTOP

An unforgettable and very special proposal at Truck Race

Lukas could not have shown any more sense of family. The volunteer driver had chosen a special place and a special supporter to pop his rather special question. An unforgettable moment, that much is certain. Just like the “yes” this creative proposer received in response.

Make an alliance for life. Trucker’s World member Lukas could not have found a better place to ask for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. Annika, his fiancé, has been a regular at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix since 2006 and loves the family atmosphere at the Ring.

By choosing there as his proposal location, Lukas, who volunteers as a truck driver (MAN, of course) for Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) and the voluntary fire service, has finally seen to it that his girlfriend feels like one big family at the festival site. While Lukas was popping the question up on the roof of a show truck, the crowd below cheered and was clearly delighted for the couple. Lukas had arranged the proposal with MAN and was already mic’d up, which meant that the whole event was broadcast live. He was over the moon:

“It was simply wonderful for MAN to have played a part.”

On hand was club member Mark to act as a co-conspirator and, to a certain extent, a lure by getting a tattoo in the MAN Tattoo Truck. The pair had assured Annika that she and Lukas would wait on the “truck roof terrace” until Mark had finished getting his tattoo. The future bride got her passion for trucks from her father, who runs a freight forwarding company and has been in a successful partnership with MAN for years. What’s more, Annika can now also be found behind the wheel of a truck – she was in the process of getting her driving licence when Lukas proposed at the Nürburgring. Let nothing stand in the way of a happy truck marriage.
